Kerouac's 'Orpheus' emerges in print
Orpheus Emerged, written when he signed his work ''John Kerouac,'' didn't emerge from his estate until 16 months ago, when it was released as an e-book from LiveReads. Friday, it will finally be published as the kind of book that Kerouac would have recognized. He died in 1969 at the age of 47.
''Unfortunately, most people aren't ready to read e-books yet,'' says ibooks president Byron Preiss, who packaged the book and CD-ROM for $24. He calls it ''the best of both worlds.'' (which ebook world?)
