Now whY Didn't I Think Of That!
NYDItot 2.01
This handy little program frees you from the limitations of your Pocket PC's tiny display by creating a virtual display of arbitrary size. This virtual display can be panned using NVD's innovative panning control or compressed to fit the physical display which effectively increases the resolution of your device. The display can also be rotated in any of four orientations. An intuitive management tools allows to to create unlimited configurations for quick mode changing.
I send questions through email to the NYDitot support, and with less than 2 hours got back the reply
1. Is it compatible with Readers 2.0, Palm Reader for Pocket PC, TomeRaider, Mobipocket, Adobe Reader, Aportis, Starbuck?
A: "I can best answer that by explaining how NVD works. NVD fools the operation system into thinking it has a display of some resolution other than the actual physical display; therefore, ALL applications will see this "virtual display". It is common programming practice to design applications to adjust themselves to the detected resolution. Unfortunately, some Pocket PC applications are hard-coded to a 240x320 display, the authors not anticipating any other resolution. Properly programmed, all applications should work fine under NVD. We have not performed any compatibility testing for the applications you mention but we hope to start a page on our web site that lists compatible applications sometime in the near future."
2. How about with hardware Jornada 560s, Casio E-200?
A: "Yes, NVD works on ALL Pocket PC devices including those you mentioned. It also works on some H/PC devices like the Jornada 720. In addition we have another version for older CE 2.11 based devices like the Casio E-100. NVD supports grayscale as well as color displays with bit-depths of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32 (i.e. everything out there). It is currently being tested with ruggedize PPCs, industrial control systems, smartphones, and other CE based devices. Our goal is to support any CE device that has a display."
3. Will it slow down the performance?
A: "On most current devices with 200+ MHz processors you will not notice any degradation in performance. You may notice slower frame rates when playing videos in a non-DirectX (a.k.a. GAPI) mode."
I will install NYDitot and I will write my review on using it with reader software.
