ebooks vs. audio books
The library has been offering free-of-charge downloadable ebooks (not to be confused with digital audio books) that patrons can read on a computer screen, PDA or cell phone. More than 1,900 nonfiction titles and 300 popular fiction titles are available.
The ebook program is different from the digital audio book program in that only one user at a time can check out an ebook, and the check out time is four hours. After four hours, the book will automatically delete itself from the person's computer. If another user is not waiting, however, patrons can check out the book again.
