iPod turns spy with slurp.exe
The iPod has been turned into something you would expect to see in a spy film in an experiment that acts as a proof of concept for the dangers of allowing gadgets at work. An IT consultant, working for company Sharp Ideas, created a program for an iPod that allows it to find any specified file types on a network.
The program is called slurp.exe , and the author has limited its functionality, so it cannot copy files from a network, just retrieve the number of files it has found. The software is capable of running without the need for a login and password by using a boot CD, and it can then access all the files on the hard drive of that machine.
